Butterflies

I used Butterfly Wings this months stamp of the month and Treasure Life stamp sets from CTMH. I stamped the butterflies in chocolate separately then cut them out. They were then colored with the water brush using tulip and buttercup ink pads. I then used Liquid Glass to adhere the Prisma Glitter, they are attached with 3-D foam squares. For the stamping of the flowers I did not do anything special since the colors were so light, but you could stamp each flower then cover with clear embossing powder heat then stamp the next flower then there will be no overlapping of colors. After stamping the flowers I then lightly sponged crystal blue over the flowers. To create the decorative oval I used a corner punch from S.U. and removed the plastic guard this allows you to do edges and round shapes all around and not just for corners. I started at the top to punch and then went to the bottom then a quarter of the way around on both sides. On each side of every punch I then punched again. I have done it perfectly using a circle shape and it could of been spaced perfectly on the oval if you want to take the time to mathematically figure it out. I was happy with how it looked except I did not like how it looked with the open area behind so I used another piece of Blush cardstock to matte behind it then I mounted it over paper from That's Amore.

Chocolate Bunny Love

I used Bunny Love from Close to My Heart along with That's Amore papers. The chocolate bunny was colored in using CTMH water color pencils then covered with Liquid Glass. Just a note when using Liquid Glass on a small piece of paper it will warp it so I advise to adhere it down to your artwork before applying it, this may help. The scalloped circles where made from Nestibilities, I differently recommend getting some if you do not have any. The second card I covered the bunny with Fun Flock, trying not to get the Liquid Glass on the bubbles or the bubble jar. I colored the bubbles and jar with colored pencils then applied liquid Glass to the bubbles, make sure you do this after you Flock the bunny or you will have fluffy bubbles (and no this was not from experience). The border on the side was created with one of Fiskars new boarder punches, apron lace. Keep in mind Bunny Love can be used for more then Easter, the cute bunny with the bubbles could be used for a summertime picture of the kids playing with bubbles and the bunny with the flowers oh so cute on a mothers day card. Easter Cards

I would like to thank the fellow CTMH artist I got the idea from for the fuzzy little chicken. Aren't they so cute? The stamp set was Easter Eggs(last months stamp of the month) and Eastertime. You can do the fuzzy chicken more then one way. I stamped it using buttercup then covered it with Liquid Glass then sprinkled on Fun Flock and you could not tell it was white fun flock so I left it as is, but one of the chicks I then rub yellow chalk over it once it had dried and it then had a darker yellow color. The chalking tip was from the fellow CTMH artist which I do not remember her name, sorry. Now I know and you know you can make our white Fun Flock any color you would like. I even know of one more way which is to put it in a baggie with a drop of our re-inker to color it and then let dry for about an hour or two. And I am sorry if I have confused you with any of my directions, then please post a comment and I will try to elaborate.

Artwork from March's Club

For both cards I used March's stamp of the month Butterfly Wings and That's Amore paper. For the card at the top I used the water brush with tulip ink to color in the butterfly, then covered it with Liquid glass then Prisma glitter. The second card the stamp set Intrinsic Backgrounds was also used. The butterflies are raised with 3-D foam squares and were stamped with the Versa Pad and then colored in with chalks.

Art Work From My February CTMH Club

This is a layout we did for February, I have added some details once I added pictures which were not there for the one we did in club. I added the clear sparkles to the flourish, also added was the work play along with the journaling and a second green flower matte. This was a layout adapted from CTMH workshop on the go program. The flowers are made from the Easter Eggs set and the flourish came from Free Spirit and the other images came from Priceless Love stamp sets. The paper used was Creative Basics Emporium Collection along with Vanilla Cream and Chocolate card stock. The one flower I used a corduroy brad from the winter cozy collection and the other one has a french knot using the vineyard berry ribbon which comes in the basics collection.

If you notice the edge around the layout that was done using sweet leaf ink pad and a brayer along with the template I made. CTMH instructions was to make the design by taking the Bayer in a curving motion, I found this to be to difficult so I made a template. If you want to make your own take a strip of paper and cut it a quarter of an inch shorter then your page size. Not to make it too difficult I then divided the paper into fourth and in one fourth cut a curve, then using the piece I cut I traced it on to the other Fourths. Now place your template on your paper and ink up the brayer and then roll away, you will need to re ink and apply as many time until you get your desired shade, then move the template to the other side matching up the edge to the side you just inked. Repeat until all sides are done. This techniques is endless, other ideas are to use a different color on each curve, or every other one,just cover up the areas you do not want colored. Another idea is to make a template from some of the fancy precut papers you may buy and ink all around the edges so it looks like you used one of your 4.00 pieces of paper.

Happy St. Patricks Day

Here is my artwork in honor of the day, I used CTMH Clover Meadow green and the clover itself is made from heart from the Soul Mates Word Puzzel stamp set, and yes it is one of my favorites if you have been following my blog I have used it before. I staped onto the card the hearts and then also stamped a second set which I cut out and then used pop dots to give it dimension, and the happy St Patricks day stamp is from another company.



Last year I tried making a big deal out of St. Patricks Day, by making green cupcakes and green punch and we even had green applesauce (that one was not a hit it was kiwi flavored)but the kids did not seem impressed, so I decided this year we would wear green and that would be enough for this holiday. By the way the pictures of the kids are from last year. I would have to say they did like the cupcakes as you can tell by the pictures but the whole color thing they could care less about. My children blood must be too diluted for them to realize they are part Irish, but they did not get it from me and no Zrodlowski is not Irish but Jeff's mom is.

My Little Man

Here is another layout using Close To My Heart papers and embellishments. I used Route 66 paper and stamped the word handsome with the rustic alphabet in cranberry and then after making sure it was totally dry I then stamped Alec with a different set with the Versa Pad and embossed that with clear embossing powder. I tried to show you this in the second picture, but was hard to capture. The hinge is also from CTMH but they were originally silver I just heated them up with my heat gun then dipped into cranberry embossing powder then heat again. This technique can be used with any metal item.

More to adore

One of my favorite paper packs from Close to my Heart is More to Adore and the first one was done using a level one page and this my club did awhile ago. The second one I got out the sewing machine for some added embelishment.
